Travel to Everglades in the name of Science, or not?

So everyone's favorite Polar Bear is now a Collage Student who is currently in his first Semester of the year. Today in Bio, my professor told the class about this really cool course. Its called "Bio 200 Ecology: The Everglades" and it is a cool course because it involves traveling to the Everglades for 2 weeks in January.

I think its a great idea, I have always wanted to go to the Everglades and see gaters up close and stuff like that, but there are some limitations.

1. Limited time window. 

Out of all the applications they receive, they will only choose 20 people. And I half to decide in 10 days if I want to do this or not. But thats not the only limitation.

2. Money. 

This crazy trip will cost me $449 for all the expenses: Transport, camping, instructional activities, food, and lodging in route. To add to the limitations, its a Winter course so I will half to pay Tuition and fees. And right now, I have no job and my mother and I are going through some Economic hardships. How the fuck are we going to get almost $500 without resorting to family help or Illegal means?! :P

3. Distance. 

I'm fine with traveling, but along the way I might get homesick. I doubt that will happen because there are things that I will be doing that will take my mind off of that sort of thing. But with someone like me, you never know what will be happening next.

4. Being away from what is known as the "Modern World"

Now I love being outdoors, and have no problem getting dirty and such like that. But I also like my share of modern devices like my laptop and iPod. The iPod because I like my music. It helps me think and calm down. If the battery dies during that timespan of limited to no Electric power, while I can handle it, I wont be myself.

I'm split, I feel like I want to do this because its a once in a lifetime thing and it would be amazing. But I feel like I dont want to do it because of the four things listed above. Mostly number 2. I dont want to waste my family's limited money on something that isn't "vital for survival" in a way.

What should I do folks? (of course no one will reply to this, but It cant hurt to post this here)

This Blog.

So this is what this blog is all about:

Way back, in the year of 2009, when I was starting to get on the internet, I discovered these things called "Blogs" I thought they would be a pretty cool thing to do. So I started this blog under the name of "landons96sworld"

I planed to have the blog be a sort of journal, and my thoughts of what was going on in the world at the time. However there was one thing that plagued me, Spelling. As you can see in my early blog posts from all those years ago, my spelling and grammar was horrible. It still needs work, but it is supremely better now than it was back then. After awhile, I got bored and simply forgot about the blog. Then, I came back, because of a now failed project we were doing on YouTube. Instead of using this blog, I created a whole new one. Called "The Bear Den" After the project failed, I went into another realm of inactivity.

Now, I have plans to bring this blog back under its original charter, My thoughts on what is going on in the world, through the eyes of a Polar Bear. Thus, I changed the blogs name to TheAmazingPolarBear, and my user name to The Bear King. I will try to post more frequently, and I promise that if I do go back to the realm of inactivity, that I will post that I will do so.

I'm also going to try and get the word out about this blog, so I can have more people fallowing this blog. I will be delegating all the old posts on this blog that really make no sense, and remove some of the useless gadgets on the side. And I will change the blogs style. To reflect on the new path that I plan to take with this blog.

End my post. Here is to another 5 or more years of this blog!

sorry i haven't been posting

Sorry that i haven't been posting resently (High School can be a pain in the behind sometimes) but i will try to post more stuff on this blog as much as i can. In the meantime check out the Fizzbear11 blog and go outside and get off the Computer and get a life (LOL!!!)
